About Us

Stark Reality Intellectual Apparel LLC, a Black-owned business in Cincinnati since 2021, creates unique, artistic fashion inspired by love, life, and understanding. Through original art and poetry—including our exclusive hoodku—we present thought-provoking designs.

The hoodku, is three-line poem consisting of 5-8-5 structure used to express a thing or idea. It resembles the haiku, a traditional Japanese poetic form, but employs 18 syllables instead of 17 for greater flexibility. 

The number 18 holds various meanings. Historically, it symbolizes both bondage and freedom, referring to the abolition of slavery in the 18th century and the celebration of Juneteenth. The hoodku seeks to free people from perceptions that keep them in bondage by invoking a conscious change.  

Our MISSION STATEMENT and/or motto, "THINK On Everything You Wear" encourages mindfulness and intentionality in clothing choices. It suggests considering the impact and significance of attire, not just in terms of fashion, but also in relation to identity, values, and the messages conveyed. This aligns with using experiences and challenges to create a positive and empowering narrative, as reflected in the hoodku.
